- Build a network of strong, like-minded women who uplift and support one another.
- Develop your leadership skills and make a lasting impact at your university.

How to Start a HER University Chapter on Your Campus
Before you get started, you’ll need to assemble a leadership team (E-Board) and find a school advisor who can support your chapter. Having the right team in place is key to creating a successful chapter.
Minimum Leadership Requirements:
- President: Leads the chapter, oversees everything, and stays in touch with national HER University leadership.
- Vice President: Helps manage the chapter and supports the President.
- Treasurer: Takes care of finances, dues, and fundraising.
Recommended (but not required to apply):
- Secretary: Manages documents and chapter communication.
- Event Coordinator: Plans and organizes fun events and workshops.
- Marketing & Social Media Chair: Helps spread the word and recruit new members.
Faculty/Staff Advisor Requirement: Each chapter needs a school-approved advisor to provide guidance and serve as a bridge between your chapter and the university. Have a potential advisor in mind before applying; but if you need help with recruiting leadership members, we’re here to support you during the onboarding process!
Once your leadership team and advisor are set, head over to the HER University Chapter Interest Form. You’ll need to include:
- Your name and school.
- The names of your President, Vice President, Treasurer, and School Advisor.
- Why you want to bring HER University to your campus and what excites you about it.
Now it’s time to complete the official Chapter Application and submit a proposal that tells us more about your vision:
- Why is HER University a great fit for your campus?
- How will you recruit and grow your chapter?
- A list of at least five founding members (including the President, Vice President, and Treasurer).
- Your advisor’s contact info.
Once we’ve received your application, we’ll schedule an interview with you, your E-Board, and your school advisor. We’ll chat about your leadership team’s readiness and how aligned your chapter is with HER University’s mission.
- If approved, we’ll send you an acceptance letter, and you’ll move on to the next step!
- If we need a bit more info, we’ll work together to strengthen your proposal.
All approved chapters go through HER University Chapter Leadership Training. This training is designed to make sure you’re ready to lead your chapter with confidence and success. During the training, you’ll learn about:
- HER University’s mission, values, and goals.
- Leadership development and how to recruit new members.
- Event planning, programming, and chapter management.
- Financial management and setting up your chapter structure.
After training, you’ll get a Chapter Starter Kit to help you hit the ground running, which includes:
- Branding materials & social media templates.
- Guides for recruitment and member engagement.
- Resources for event planning and programming.
Now that your leadership team is trained, you’re ready to launch your chapter! This is where the fun begins.
- Host your Interest Meeting to introduce HER University to potential members.
- Plan your first chapter event to establish your presence on campus.
- Set up your social media pages and begin your outreach.
Congratulations! You’re now officially part of the HER University community.
After your chapter is launched, we’ve got your back! You’ll get:
- Monthly leadership check-ins with HER University’s national team.
- Exclusive access to resources and networking opportunities for personal and professional growth.
- Continued mentorship and learning through HER University Nation’s online community.
- Opportunities to attend national events, summits, and leadership retreats.
We’re here to ensure your chapter thrives and makes a positive impact on your campus and beyond!
