🏛 National Executive Team (Core Leadership)

These are the visionaries and department heads responsible for leading the direction, strategy, and execution of HER University’s national programs, brand, and member experience.

1. Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Purpose: Oversee internal operations and ensure smooth cross-department collaboration. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage systems, SOPs, and workflows

  • Track team productivity and accountability

  • Organize onboarding and team documentation Requirements:

  • 2–3 years in operations, admin, or leadership support

  • Excellent with logistics and project management tools

2. Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Purpose: Lead HER University’s financial operations, budgeting, and fundraising development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage national budget and financial reporting

  • Oversee donation and expense tracking

  • Supervise fundraising and grant operations Requirements:

  • 2–4 years in finance, accounting, or nonprofit budgeting

  • Proficient in spreadsheets and financial tools

3. Director of Marketing & Communications

Purpose: Guide national brand voice, campaigns, and communications. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee strategic marketing calendar and rollout

  • Direct content, graphics, and PR messaging

  • Supervise Marketing Committee Requirements:

  • 2+ years in marketing or communications

  • Strong storytelling and leadership skills

4. Director of Programs & Initiatives

Purpose: Lead national programming, including HER Week and ongoing events. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee national initiatives and workshops

  • Coordinate calendars with chapters and online programs

  • Supervise Programs Committee Requirements:

  • 2+ years in event or program planning

  • Organized and team-oriented

5. Director of Membership & Retention

Purpose: Lead national membership strategy and experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage onboarding, engagement, and retention processes

  • Oversee member communication and kit logistics

  • Lead Membership Support Team Requirements:

  • Strong communication and organization skills

  • Experience in community-building or student orgs preferred

6. Director of Volunteer Engagement

Purpose: Build and manage HER University’s volunteer base. Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and onboard volunteers

  • Lead Volunteer Committee operations

  • Assign support for events and initiatives Requirements:

  • Strong people skills and leadership presence

  • Experience with team or volunteer management

7. Director of Partnerships & Collaborations

Purpose: Grow HER U’s reach through external partnerships. Key Responsibilities:

  • Build brand, influencer, and corporate partnerships

  • Present collaboration decks and manage partner relations Requirements:

  • Experience in sales, partnerships, or relationship-building

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

8. Director of Impact & Research

Purpose: Track, report, and communicate HER U’s national impact. Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather participation and engagement data

  • Lead surveys, analytics, and reporting

  • Support grant writing with metrics Requirements:

  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail

  • Experience with surveys, reports, or research methods

9. Director of DEI & Culture

Purpose: Ensure equity, inclusivity, and cultural relevance in all programs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Review internal and external materials

  • Advocate for underrepresented voices Requirements:

  • Understanding of DEI principles

  • Empathetic and clear communicator

10. Executive Assistant

Purpose: Provide admin and organizational support to the Executive Director. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage calendars, inboxes, notes, and deadlines

  • Organize files and team communication Requirements:

  • Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented

  • Admin or assistant experience preferred


🤝 National Committee Teams (Volunteer-Based)

Each Director leads a committee team to support execution and growth. These roles are perfect for women who want to serve, grow, and contribute their skills.

🔸 Fundraising Committee (under CFO)

Purpose: Support donor engagement and giving campaigns. Key Responsibilities:

🔸 Marketing & Content Committee (under Director of Marketing)

  • Creative mindset, social media savvy, Canva skills helpful

🔸 Programs Committee (under Director of Programs)

Purpose: Help coordinate workshops, events, and national programming. Key Responsibilities:

  • Host or plan digital and in-person events

  • Provide logistics or content support Requirements:

  • Organized, dependable, and community-focused

🔸 Membership Support Team (under Director of Membership)

Purpose: Enhance national member experience. Key Responsibilities:
